My home is 2800 sq/ft and I would like to replace all the T-111 siding with Hardie Board. Almost the entire outside of the house is T-111.

I wondered if it was possible to replace wooden shakes with vinyl siding only on the front of my house. It is a one story ranch - about 60 feet wide (this includes a garage). I'd like a ballpark estimate for materials and installation - and whether or not its possible to cap the sides even if one of the sides on each corner being capped would be wooden shakes.
